About us

The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame Foundation is a 501(c)(3) founded in 2010 by basketball legend and American Basketball Hall of Famer LaMont "ShowBoat" Robinson. The first inaugural induction ceremony was held in 2013 and has been held in induction ceremonies annually. Every year the Hall of Fame has attracted music fans to come each year to the induction ceremonies, they come as far as Europe to our always sold-out Black-Tie Red Carpet Gala. The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame has enshrined over 200 world-renowned artists such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Michael Jackson, Prince, Elvis Presley, and many, many more.

The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame will be a great major tourists attraction that could bring over 250,000-500,000 tourists to the city of Marks, Mississippi, and Quitman County will bring more than 100 jobs and place dollars into your metro annual economy, like the Rock Hall dose in the city of Cleveland, OH and how the Country Music Hall of Fame does in Nashville, TN.

The goal is not to build a funeral parlor with lights like most of the hall of fame and museums are today, but to build a high-tech state-of-the-art 50,000 sq. ft. highly interactive, virtual reality, 3D hologram experience center that will be the Disneyland of Music. We have developed a full concept plan and layout for this project. This project would appeal to major corporate sponsors and would also offer the naming rights etc...

Mission

Our mission is to educate and preserve, promote and present but focus mainly on the history of rhythm and blues music, but this institution will honor blues, gospel, jazz and hip-hop artists, due to rhythm, blues, being brith from the gospel, blues and jazz music, but rhythm and blues music inspired every other genres of music. The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame will celebrate the black music legacy, by ensuring artists into its institution.

Goal

The goal is to build a state-of-the-art complex in the City of Marks, Quitman County Mississippi, to honor the legacy of rhythm and blues, blues, gospel, jazz, and hip-hop music, and the complex will be called the Black Music Village.

Vision

The National Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame will be an in-depth, highly interactive educational experience. It maintains historical artifacts and state-of-the-art interactive exhibits that provide cultural enrichment, and entertainment for people of all ages.

Hall of Fame

The National Rhythm and Blues Hall of Fame gallery will be a special area within the complex that will immortalize and enshrines many national and international stars, and political and business dignitaries who have made a significant impact in music, civil rights, or business. In the gallery, there are displays of memorabilia and general information regarding the inducted recipients. Plaques, awards, and sculptures of these individuals will also be on display.

Several high-tech touch screen displays. These displays will feature biographies, videos, and photos of every Hall of Famer. Displays of memorabilia and photographs will be displayed of these personalities who have earned a place in music history.
